Our Last Night in Bismarck

This morning we went to Mass with Angela's family and Brendan.  After Mass, Angela's family went to Minot for the afternoon, and we had lunch with Brendan and Zuli at TGI Fridays.  Zuli had to go to work, so Brendan spent the afternoon with us.  He and I went geocaching for awhile.  Angela called when they got back to town and we all went to supper.  I took a picture of the sunset while I was waiting for everyone to line up for a picture.

As usual when trying to take a picture of a tired family, not everyone will smile at the same time.

We are leaving Bismarck tomorrow, we have had a great time here, but the road calls.  We have noticed that many businesses have the following sign here, they cannot get enough workers here where they are competing with the oil drilling companies for wages.

Some Pictures

I am finally sitting down and putting some recent pictures on here.  We are enjoying our time here in Bismarck.  Last Friday we drove the Jeep up to Minot and spent the weekend with Kath and Don.  They have a really nice house there and we had a great weekend catching up and enjoying some good food.  Kath made me one of her apple pies (just like Mom used to make!).  Angela and Thomas joined us on Sunday at Mass and we all went out to lunch afterward.  We spend most days here at Angela's house and usually see Brendan in the evening.  Wednesday night Brendan and Zuli took us out to a nice restaurant.  Temperatures here have been pleasant, but it is predicted to hit mid 90s today.

These pictures are from back when we were in DesMoines.

Andrea had a slide for us to take to Rebecca's

And here are a few from Sioux City.

This is Angela holding her plate of cheese buttons, a local food here in Bismarck.  It seems to be a square of pasta with a seasoned cottage chees mixture in it, and covered with a cream sauce.

Well, I guess thats all for now.

Tuesday in Bismarck

We had a busy weekend at the campground.  We decided to extend our stay at the campground for another week, but our site was taken already by someone else for the weekend.  We moved to a different site on Friday and the Roller family brought out their tent and joined us for the weekend.  We enjoyed their company and had some good food.  Sunday afternoon we moved back to our original site where we will be until Friday.  We are parking the MH at Rollers on Friday and driving the Jeep up to Minot to spend the holiday weekend with Kath & Don.  We will come back here on Monday to the KOA campground for another week and then hit the road again.  Last night Brendan and Zuli came out for a supper cooked by Janice.

Saturday in Bismarck

Friday, the Roller family joined us in Fargo to have lunch and race go karts.  We met them at McDonalds near the race track and had lunch together.  Then it was off to the races.  Here are some pictures of Janice, Xavier, and Asamenew.

We also tried the bumper cars.

After the races, we all headed to Bismarck, the kids rode in the motorhome with Grandpa and Grandma.  The trip was made a little longer by having to change a leaking tire on the motorhome on the way.  We are staying at the General Sibley Campground in Bismarck this week.  It seems to be a nice quiet park so far.  Today after lunch, Brendan and Zuli took us out to a firing range for the afternoon.

Quite a load of guns and ammo in the back seat of the Jeep.

Tomorrow it's off the Mass and more adventures.

Fargo, ND

Stayed at Lindenwood Park Campground last night.  A nice quiet place on the Red River.  We are going to a huge sporting goods store this morning and then meeting Angela's family for lunch and go cart racing.

Getting Ready to Head Back North

We are planning to leave here Thursday morning to head back to Iowa.  We need to pick up the motorhome and Jeep in DesMoines and be back in Sioux City for Dr. appointments Monday morning.  Here are a few pictures of Janice and her family that I took here.

The last picture of Janice and Mom was taken at a local restaurant at lunch one day.  There was a young man playing his guitar and singing happy birthday at a nearby table.   When they went to leave, Vicki asked him to play it for Janice since her birthday is coming up.  He was happy to do it and pose for a picture afterward.

Here is a picture of the stairs I built to help Mom climb up to her lofty bed.

While we were here I spent several mornings at the local soup kitchen.  I really enjoy the Monday group in the kitchen.  They take pride in their food and cook everything from scratch.  This is Truitt, the leader.

Some more members of the group.

They are a dedicated group and I really enjoyed my time with them again.

Mom King is Home

Mom was released today and is home now.  She is doing well and everyone is glad to have her home.  The rain continues here.  Forecast is for rain every day this week.  The only pictures I have to post are some of Mom's flowers.
