More Desert Treks

Pictures here are from our last two treks. One with one other Jeep and the other with a group. The first one was a short one with one other couple. It was right after a rain and we ended up in a rocky pass where the road was washed out on the other side.

Great views from the top!

Doug walking ahead on the other side and finding the road washed out.

So we had lunch there and turned around and headed back up.

This spot in the trail is known as Twin Cactus.

We just liked this scene.

On the next trek, we crossed the river into California. Our first stop was at a place where people have created desert art.

A short hike around a hill brings you to the desert art area. Can you tell what all of these are?

A lone wild burro watched us load up and leave. This is the first one we have seen this winter.

Not too far away, we started seeing mountain sheep.

We watched this group for quite awhile as they easily walked up and down the near vertical wall.

I can't resist taking pictures of the beautiful cactus in bloom.

Another group of wild burros.

I think that due to the sheep and burros, that this was the best trek yet.
